06.21.2010 Right now, as I’m typing...I’m hearing a conversation upstairs between Lucky, Jane and Rebecca (Becca for short) Moffat, the neighbor that Lucky plays with from time to time. Jane has been playing with the girls for an hour without incedent. I’ve been lazily shopping online for decorations (I’ve given up almost completely taking the kids to the store). I found a wreath for the door FINALLY and snapped it up! I’ve been rebelling against most traditional wreaths since I spotted the reference to them on “seriouslysoblessed” about how people have a wreath for every season on their door. This one IS round but it has different plants than usual and it’s this brilliant lime green which I seriously love now but see the potential for my overuse and future rejection of the color. So, as I’m shopping for stuff to finish off the look of the porch...my relaxation is shattered by the screams of my two year old. The way it sounded you’d think I’d be nervous about what happened, but Jane has been using that scream to alert me to any and all unhappy events in her life major and minor. So, I wait, listening for the conversation between the girls to tell me how to react to the event. As it turns out, there are three cookies in the room with them. They are playing a game where the party where they are supposed to eat these cookies has yet to happen. Jane has decided an hour of waiting entitles her to eat all the cookies and when big sister tries to object, she spits out the cookies all over Lucky’s room and begins that farmiliar nerve wracking scream. I’m calm...I coax Jane downstairs to calm her down and get her side of the story. This is not an easy task, given that she has decided not to use the english language to tell her story, I’m expected to decipher a series of grunts. Luckily I ‘d been evesdropping and we muddle through. Thanks to a patient big sis, a brand new set of cookies and an hour of relaxation to prepare me for the event, they are now playing upstairs quietly and nicely and maybe I get another;) -kelly

I'm having a DISCOVERY TOYS party in two weeks which is the 12th of March @ 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited of course. You're welcome to bring your kids. It works basically the same way as all the other parties. BUT HERE'S THE THING-i LOVE these toys!!! they are so smart! they teach the kids to actually think while they're playing. and since teaching my kids doesn't come natural to me, it's nice to have a toy that facilitates learning in a totally fun & interesting way! so instead of buying your kid/niece/nephew/grandbaby/birthday kid the wow gift that looks good, but really never gets played with, buy them something that contributes to who they are! these are NOT boring toys! they are just smart! & engaging. so come!!! you might receive a formal invite or something on facebook, but definitely come!

Lucky now has a signed document(a Disneyland map) stating(circling) each ride she has agreed to go on if she wants us to take her to Disneyland. & daddy has signed the agreement stating that on said rides he will "hold her very tightly" & "tell her if something scary is coming".

Well last night I made a bet with boe... he said it cost more to go to goofy's diner than to go to minnie's breakfast & i told him that if there was any difference it was within $4. so we never agreed on terms...i just told him if i won i'd get to buy this fanny pack, if he won... well... nevermind. so he DOES NOT like these, but i've been dying over the ruffly one for months, the other one is a new find. I looked up the prices of the dinners on the internet & while they don't have specific prices listed, they do have $$($30 or more) listed next to both, which i think means they are the same price or at least close. so i win, right. fanny pack here i come! but now i can't decide which one...

-looking up hotel rates multiple times a day

-looking at all our pictures from the previous trips

-talking to jane about it all day long, because she can't tell me she's annoyed

-researching the best methods of transporting the kiddies around the park in

convenience & style

-imagining the best scenarios for which direction we will progress around the parks

-convincing lucky how un-scary roller coasters are

-obsessing over which character meals to attend. (boe wants to try WOODY'S ROUNDUP and i'm just not sure; but definitely princess lunch)

-planning the best summertime outfits that will look good with Mickey ears

-researching dog hotels (a new symptom)

-singing the song from the tiki tiki room

-watching every disney movie we own over & over

-find myself thinking the disney character gear a walmart looks adorable not tacky

Weekend Wrap Up!

MONDAY_NO SCHOOL-hurray, until Lucky spent the whole day gone at a friends house & I didn't see her until dinner:( oh, well. she had fun & I spent a couple of hours helping Chelsea edit, which is always too much fun & I lose track of time! We had leftovers from the AMAZING Valentine's Day dinner that boe had made us. (which totally deserves it's own blog post...but i'll just say THANK YOU ELDERS QUORUM for teaching my husband how to cook it)

TUESDAY- was one of those days that disappears into nothing but cooking & cleaning & errands & not enough time to do the stuff that sounds like fun. but on the upside-house was clean & kids were fed;)

WEDNESDAY-spent the whole day thinking about 5 o'clock & the Celine Dion movie. UM, LOVED. plus it was kind of a GNO. & I got to catch up with Whitney(i had totally forgot how funny she is) but in the end Lucky started to get sick...as usual....so we stopped for some motrin on the way home and the next day...

THURSDAY-went to the doctor. even though Lucky swore her ears didn't hurt anymore. i knew better & one DOUBLE EAR INFECTION later we had our prescription & some advice from the doctor about another one of Lucky's problems(doctors know everything)

FRIDAY- WHY do i hate taxes so much? it's like a big test that I'm not prepared for every spring. BUT it was inevitable...thanks to JEFF for making it quick & painless. for us, not for him I'm sure... & the good news IS we CAN book DLAND. sweet....and we celebrated by eating off the dollar menu at McDonalds;)

SATURDAY- is always busy now. I have class. Molly has class. Jane has to go be babysat somewhere. It's not so much fun. But then I went to see fiddler on the roof with my mom & i always love HALE & I love my mom, too. double positive. when i got home boe needed a break from J. she's cute but tough. so i took her to walmart (because i'm crazy) but i brought a sucker this time. which helped a TON.!

WELL i hear my cute family downstairs listening to music & training the dog & i don't want to miss any more!

MOLLY-aka- worlds cutest puppy! She is officially three months old! {tear} She still does puppy things like *bite*chew*pee in the house

(although, that is almost gone)* We still love her very much. WELL, i mean i like her a lot & boe

every Saturday, where she learns how to SIT, STAY, LEAVE IT, WATCH ME, & to sniff other dogs politely;) then we use all the tricks & techniques they taught her on JANE. works like a CHARM!

Jane turned 2 on the 20th! I can't believe two years went by so fast! Depressing! HOWEVER, she is the cutest thing ever. Just today, I was carrying her to timeout & she was hugging me, trying to stay out of trouble. I tried not to let her know, but I was totally loving the big toddler squeeze!

Dearest Friends & Family,

Even though I haven’t seen most of you for years, I would like to give you all the details about my life which I find to be the most positive & flattering. I will go down the list of each family member including my husband making sure to make him seem as excited as I am to be included in the letter(it’s not imasculating at all). So here goes...

Boe has been doing many important things, like running the company all on his own & somehow managing to rake in triple the profits of his competitors, even in “these times”. He also finds the time to take the girls to their dance, karate, latin, & piano lessons. And in between he checks off his honey do list with such enthusiasm that I think I’ll double it next year! And when he’s not taking care of us, he’s taking care of himself by working out twice a day, eating only from whole foods & gnc & has a marathon scheduled for every month this year! I’m sooo proud of him!

I, of course, have been running my growing at home business now for three years and still have not taken even one moment away from my children. I’m still dressing them to match the season, holiday, weather & each other at the appropriate not tacky times. And i’m pulling their piggy tails tighter than ever. THEY LOVE IT! I have plenty of me time, thanks to hubby & plenty of time to shop & see my gal pals whenever I want. I also take time out to take care of the needy....when I can find them. I volunteer at the girls’ private school 3 times a week to make sure all there snacks are cut in cute heart shapes with smiley faces! They always tell me how much they LOVE me & how good my cooking is. (i think my maid is jealous) I redecorated the house 4 times this year, all based off of tutorials from design blogs. It was SUPER FUN! But my real passion is the etsy store where I have been selling my handmade potholders & toilet seat covers! It’s fantastic!

Lucky is at the top of her class about to be moved to 1st grade based on smartness and maturity. She cleans her room everyday and makes her bed like she’s in the military. And I don’t know about YOUR kids, but she always does whatever I ask the first time! She just won and art award, and a drama class award, and a beauty pageant based on smartness and maturity. If life was a competition....she’d be waaayyy ahead!

Jane is possibly the most charming 2 year old that ever lived. She can use a fork and spoon perfectly, makes her own cereal for breakfast, and has been potty trained since her first birthday. She had all the signs of being ready to potty train. And another bonus about Jane is how well she behaves in church. Like a little angel. And lets not leave out Jane’s accomplishments. She’s already reading like one of those babies on the commercial. IN FACT she is one of the babies on the commercial!

And as for the whole family, we’ve been on a family vacation every month filled with golden memories enhanced and recorded by the on call photographer & commercial grade camera we have with us all the time. We got our boat this year, and our jet skis, and our own reality show in the same time slot as those yucky, and poor kardashians!

i know, i know. one time is NOT the end of diapers, but the end HAS to start with that first success., right?..this is my third try with her. you might think she's too young to start potty training, but if you saw how hard diaper changes are getting, you would know that potty training CAN'T be any harder. besides, jane is already soo curious about the potty, she might as well know what it's for. maybe she'll stop trying to bathe in it. so here i go on to the ADVENTURES IN POTTY TRAINING! this time when she went, i practically threw her a party!!! i used my highest pitch voice & kept saying "what a BIG GIRL, you went pee in the potty!!" over & over again, hoping she'd make the connection. she got hugs from sister & daddy & of course a fruit snack. i have a whole box from costco for potty ammo. good luck to me! {yes, we still use the phrase "good luck" around our house}

Friday Night at the Bees Game!

So, friday we went to the Bees game! Boe had me get tickets for that night because it was a firework night. We had sweet seats & we brought grandma jackie with us. the game was fine, but wc lost. never scored. that's the curse of taking ME to a game. i never get to see winning. but whatev, the fireworks were sweet! jane had fun. she kept playing peek-a-boo with the people behind us. lucky was just happy to be there and i thought she looked so cute in the too big Bees t-shirt. all in all a gorgeous & relaxing night!

K-jane hasn't been letting me get much sleep lately & i've gotten really behind on my chores. SOOO this week i will focus! Today it's just going to be all about the Laundry. Take in the dry cleaning. Finish the giant pile. Clean out jane's too littles. Iron a bunch of boes shirts if i can. I'm even wanting to clean a bunch of lucky's toys. Wish me LUCK! Lucky's Birthday! (2 months later)

So, for Lucky's birthday #5 she wanted to go to the mall, and I took her to the Hello Kitty store & she got to pick out whatever she wanted. The total came to under $20! Then we went to the petting zoo at thanksgiving point. Meanwhile her daddy was setting up her surprise at home. He wasn't quite done & I had to stall some more so I took the girls to IHOP.( Lucky's 2nd favorite restaraunt) Finally we got back home where there were family & friends waiting & Boe had set up a jellybean trail to lead her to her surprise. It was a super long trail, that eventually ended up in her room where she found her new loft bed!! She's been asking about a new bed for months now, so she was excited!

Disneyland Part 2

Doesn't EVERYONE have these shots from Disneyland? So the evening we arrived at disneyland Lucky has the fever, right? But she gets this kind of thing sometimes when she travels or gets dehydrated. So after we ate at this little cafe in Downtown Disney she went with Boe back to the hotel room to rest. Jane and I walked around a little bit. That night was a bit rough, getting Jane to sleep without her bed & trying to get Lucky's fever down. I had brought Tylenol, thank goodness!
In the morning Lucky seemed alot better, except she was being really lazy...go figure. Of course when we got in the park I got the Crazy surge of Adrenaline/Happy warm fuzzy feelings that I get when I'm in the middle of a place that looks wonderful & smells wonderful & everyone is just there to relax & have fun. Like Vegas. I just keep trying to take in all the magical details. Every little design detail that they've put into that place is not lost on me. Boe and I were particularly preoccupied with the landscaping since he is in the business of detailing our yard these days.
First we did the new Finding Nemo ride. It was ok. We went about the day, taking turns taking Lucky & Jane on rides that worked for them. Lucky said her favorite ride that day was Autotopia. Lucky even went on Star Tours & Space Mountain.
I think we went and rode It's a Small World. after that. Then we walked over and did Critter Country. Boe loved Splash Mountain! so I went on it right after him. And while we waited for him to come down we could see where people came down and "Splashed" and everytime Jane would say "WOW!!!" Then we went to Pirate Island on the raft & boe took Jane on a treasure hunt, and he said she had tons of fun. Lucky and I found a spot to sit & a Disney Castmember came by & gave us some food to feed a family of ducks that we were watching.
Then we went over to the petting zoo behind Thunder Mountain. Lucky had fallen asleep by then. But Jane totally had fun with the goats. They were totally understanding while she harrassed them. Maybe Disney sedates them. Then we went to eat Lunch at this burger joint in Fantasy Land. Lucky was out cold. I forget what we did after that, but we went back to the hotel to rest at about 4 and never came back. Instead we decided to take Lucky to the Emergency Room because it was Sunday & that would be the only place to get her checked out because her fever was no longer responding to Tylenol. Brianna brought over the new baby today! I haven't seen him since he was at the hospital. Look how happy Lucky is just holding him! She sat there quietly with him for a least half an hour! And here is Jane, being silly, of course! But look at the tired in her eyes. She had a wacky schedule today.

Monday May 4th!!!

That title makes it look like this is an important thing, but it's not. It's just monday. I took Lucky to pre-school. I went to Target. OH! But I did get a new camera. Point & shoot. Nothing special. But it's special to me because it's nice & simple & takes a pretty good picture. My old one was freaking out! I wish I wold have found it BEFORE we went to Disneyland. Oh well! I don't usually buy things like that(over $100) spur of the moment. But it was the old cash vs. memories argument so I didn't want to put it off. Right?

SPEAKING of Disneyland (MY happiest place on earth)...I will be posting it in parts. From beginning to end. So I guess I could Start with part 1 RIGHT NOW!

DISNEYLAND PART ONE!

We drove down on a Saturday. We left at like 5 in the morning, so that the kids would sleep. It went pretty well. Stopped for gas in St. George. Made it to Primm and stopped for lunch at CarlsJr. so the kids could play around in the play place. (sidenote: it's the first time i've taken Lucky to a play place because they look icky to me & if she got into some trouble up there with some lunatic child I would have a hard time getting to her) So the downside to this is that Lucky is nervous on jungle gyms and such. So we're trying to bribe her to go down this slide, which is actually pretty high, and she finally tried, but right before the slide there was this free swinging part that caught her off guard and she freaked out and couldn't move. So I climbed the slide & had to pick her up & take her down. Yay! So that's the double edged sword of having a cautious child. You then have a cautious child. But whatever. Back into the truck. Then about 45 minutes from Annahiem, Lucky announces that she needs to go potty. So we stop in an unsavory part of town to find the nearest bathroom (one of innumerable potty breaks). Meanwhile Jane has drank way to much milk to mesh with all the gummi worms in her stomach and it all comes back up. So we emerge from the bathroom to find a naked Jane and a grossed out daddy doing a fantastic job of cleaning it all up. Back in the truck. The kids fall asleep for the rest of the ride. Lucky woke up right as we were driving in front of Disneyland. She starts to suspect something(we've not told her where we were going). Finally we prod her to guess where she is. She is not as enthusiastic about is as we expected. Instead she says "I'm cold". And upon further investigation we discover THE FEVER !!! to be continued...

A Beachy Afternoon!

So most of you know i've had the plague. no, but i had a bout of mysterious chest pains and difficulty breathing. which were preceded by a few months of mild symtoms..back pain & some other symptoms which are too embarassing to mention. so i've been to my doctor. i have high cholesterol and elevated liver enzymes. i've had a ct scan, a chest xray, and an abdominal ultrasound. none turned up anything. i've gone to a gastroentonlogist. he put me on cholesterol medication and fish oil and a digestive enzyme. i don't see any change. i'll be in to see him again on friday with some new symptoms to share with him. and we'll see where i go from there. but that is your update for those of you who i know will be worrying about me. most days i feel really good. some days the back pain (and now chest pain) is bad and i take it easy. i promise to call people if i need help:) but i really got depressed when i couldn't take care of my kids, so i'm taking advantage of these good days as much as possible. and if anyone knows my husband, they know he's amazing with the kids and helping me out when i need it. but right now i feel really good and i'll keep you posted! xoxoxo

i can't find my camera,,,it's lost. it's usually in it's home in the cupboard above the cookie jars. it's not there. not that there is much to take pictures of. it's january. i think i know how this happened. i was sick, boe was the cleaner. and stuff just goes in different places. so i'm sure it's very safe somewhere in a much more logical place than my cupboard, too bad i don't know where that is;}

Here is my baby at the hospital the day after she was born! She's always done cute little things with her fingers. And she had the prettiest color of hair when she was born. Beautiful!
Here is her at three months. She always did that little look with her eyes. And you could tell she understood alot of what people around her were saying. Here she is 6 months. I think she looks like a quewpie doll.(does anyone know what that is?) And as most of you who know Jane know that she can hold this straight face forEVER! And now 9 months. So pretty and tons of fun! But it came way too fast!

My little one year old!

She is a sweet little one. She likes to dance. She likes piano music and good singing. She absolutely loves bread. Especially raisin bread. She likes to look out her window. If she likes something she'll give it kisses and say something that sounds like love, love, love. She points at everything. She loves to play on the computer. She loves books. She wants to get into everything. I'm in for trouble. She likes things that are sparkly or pretty. She has a bit of daredevil in her. Nothing seems to scare her except strangers. She HATES getting dressed. It gets harder every day. Don't be surprised if I just start letting her go without clothes. She likes going out, but loves coming home. That's my Jane!

In Denmark the elves play a huge part of Christmas and we have adopted that family tradition around here. Those are elves all over the window. (Boe traced and cut out all the red ones!)

The Danish also use alot of these paper cones to decorate and fill with treats. This is the girls playing with our MASSIVE stocking collection. I think we're up to about 29. All hung every year!

We had Rayna and Tristan over for the weekend. We hadn't met Tristan yet. He is such a cutie! And he really showed Jane up in the mobility department. He can go everywhere. Look familiar Angie? Ok, so this is actually our 3rd pumkin expedition. The first was at the walmart. We picked out one big pumkin to hold Lucky over until daddy could take her out. Then yesterday we needed to get one to decorate for a neighborhood thing. And finally today daddy had an evening free for pumkin picking. So we went to the only pumkin patch that I knew of!Here is Lucky's pumkin! Daddy carved it under specific instructions from Lucky! Spooky!!!

Here we are at the Cardinals game! It was just going to be Lucky & Daddy, but Jane & I came last minute. So Boe gave up his good seats to sit with the family! But his other seats are still only on the 26th row, so still great!

This is the third Cardinals game Lucky has fallen asleep at. Always at the end of the second quarter & wakes up by the fourth. She just gets too excited. She can't handle it.

This is Jane's nine month photo by Simplicity Photography. But she's not nine months until next week. She's getting so big! She is developing her little personality. She is really independent, but she doesn't like me to be too far away. She thinks she's too big for baby food and she just wants to eat what everyone else is eating. She has five teeth and the sixth is almost in. She still doesn't crawl, but she turns in a little circle and kind of scoots where she wants to go. When I'm helping her walk, she takes tiny little ballerina steps. She can say Mom and Dad and she knows what she means. She loves to get phone calls from Boe while he's at work, but is even more excited when he gets home! She loves her blankie and her bedtime and her bath. Maybe she just likes things that start with b. She hates getting dressed. She loves hanging upside down off my lap. She absolutely can not get enough of her sister. Lucky can make her laugh anytime anywhere! Jane is such a cutie. I don't know what we did without her. Happy Nine Months Baby!

Lucky has been feeling a little sick. And it came with a bit of upset tummy. So a minute ago, Lucky just informed me that she needed to go to the bathroom, because she had "poop issues". LOL! Yesterday was Uncle Miles' Birthday. So we had him over in the evening for steak and potatoes and cake. Lucky loves birthdays. She loves to give gifts and help open them. She loves to do the candles and even helps blow them out. After dark we went outside and lit some fireworks. She was so into it. She would pick out each one to light and she kept picking the smallest one's first. One at a time.

So first we went to the grocery store and bought every treat we could think of and grabbed some lunch from the deli, then we went to the park and ate and played and layed around. After that we were heading to the mall to see if we could still catch the Glenn Beck book signing(we didn't.missed it by 5 minutes), then Boe got a call and had to go to Park City for work and so he dropped us girls off at my mom's, we hung around there for a bit and then went to the fireworks, where we saw a ton of our favorite people and Jane saw her first fireworks show. The End.

So the blog is now WHITE! I don't have any pictures to post. My sister took some of Strawberry Days and so i'll have them later. We went to the rodeo. Lucky loves it. Her favorite is the barrel racing. But this time she liked the halftime show with the bmx guys too. And we went to the parade. Cousin Landon won the Baby contest...so he was in it. He was Mr. Viking. So here's a shout out to his mommy, Bre! I know she reads this. Maybe she'll let me post one of him in his costume. And we hit the carnival for a minute but Lucky was too tired to ride any rides. I rode the Zipper. Scares me...but I love it. Later that night Boe and I went to see GET SMART. B. I laughed. I kind of liked Kung Fu Panda better. B+. And we have pre-bought tickets for WALL-E. So excited. My favorite disney pixar is Incredibles. Not a fan of Toy Story. Who's with me? So anyone who knows me knows that I have the ADD and will change topics in like a second. So you are all getting a taste of that right now!

Breakfast & Temple Square

Yesterday church wasn't going so good. I was really tired and so was Lucky. So we cut class and went up to temple square. This would be Lucky's first time when she is not a baby. This is a picture of her showing Jane the statue.
The girls decided to chill in the stroller together. Jane is making her first fountain wish. Probably for a popsicle. PS. She has just sprouted the first tooth. Major accomplishment for a baby. Daddy posing with his girls. So cute!
So on saturday we had breakfast and invited a bunch of our employees and Grandma Jackie was there. These Saturday parties are starting to become a regular thing around here.

But sometimes if you come to eat you might end up planting a tree in our yard. This is Boe, Clark, Taylor, Miles and Bryce. It is so nice of these boys to come out on their day off to help us.

My sisters Brianna and Chelsea came out later and spent the day with us. So here is Brianna's baby Landon. He is two weeks younger than Jane.
